Unable to DL Raw Images
Hello,
I am having trouble downloading my raw files off of my cf card. I am using a Canon 10D with a 512mb SanDisk CF card. I first tried using the file browser in photoshop cs but when i bring up the folder with the images the thumbnails initially show up, but then all turn to black. Also, in Canon's File Browser Utility, i can see the thumbnails, but when i double click to get a larger view it says unable to create preview, and when i try to save as tiff is says error saving file. I have already tried reformatting my cf card and do not know what to do next. Thank you for any help.

Have you tried moving the images into their own folder on your hard drive and then viewing them from there and trying to work with them.
I certainly would suggest using a card reader instead of using the 10D as a card reader as well, you should find them easier to work with and quicker if you buy a USB 2.0 one as long as your computer has a USB 2 connector on it as well.
How are you formatting the Card as well.

I tried moving the files to my hard drive with no luck, and I am using a dazzle cf reader. I am also using a mac running panther....

Sorry, I'm not a mac person run windows for 20 yrs. You should be able to copy the files from the CF to the hard drive, make a folder on the mac for your photos and then copy them over. Unless you don't have permissions set to copy them over, but I suspect that not to be a problem, thinking your own computer.
It should be quite easy to just copy them over, and the card reader should just be showing as a hard drive anyway.

Penny, most things have a 12 month warranty these days so instead of chucking them out, you should be seeking a replacement for those items. You can't really afford to throw things away like that, it is going to get very costly. Weren't you unemployed recently, looking for a job.
