THM movies

I just got my Sony DSC - S500 and It's wonderful except whenever I film a movie with it the format is THM, and i have no clue what that is. Every time I look it up I get back its an image format, but I'm filming movie not taking a picture

It names files like "MOV00275.THM"

I want to convert it to something like Mpeg, help please?

Isn't the THM just a thumbnail for the camera to display and there's also a MPG or MOV ?

On My old camera when I would plug it in to the computer it would add an MPEG video and a THM file, since I got this one it only adds THM for the movies, so when I go to the folder there is all my pictures, then the movies in THM format, and I'm almost positive it can tbe the movie I filmed because these take up 2.5 KB on a 5 minute movie

But then I dont know how to get the movie itself to save to the computer

Right, 2.5K can't be the movie, it's too small.
It's probably a thumbnail for the quick-view in the camera.

Instead of MPEG, is it using the MOV format?
What program are you using to look at the files on the camera?

I dont care what format it shows up in, whether it is Mpeg, Mov, anything that will play. but the only file that shows up under the folder where it saves all the pictures and videos is ones that read " MOV00275.THM "
It uses Picture Package to upload pictures from my camera to the computer.
