    Suggestion over photographers
    Hello

I am new to this group and I also have a new Sony DSC H3 camera. It came with a lens adapter and of course now I want to add a lens? What would you experienced photographers suggest I add? I basically take pictures of people - dogs - some sunsets - pier crashing waves, beach scenes. I believe I have the option of a telephoto lens or a wide angle lens. My camera is 8.1 mega pixels and 10x optical zoom. Suggestions?

    Thanks!

What are you unable to get with the stock lens?

Based on what you're saying, a telephoto would probably be of more benefit.

With dogs I find that the farther away you are from them, the better the shots will work. Once you get a certain distance away, they'll want to run towards you. Great if you're a dog lover like me, but there goes the shooting.

Waves are hard to shoot - at least for me, I really have few shots of them I like. The ones I have liked were taken with long lenses because they tend to "compress" distances and make them look a little more dramatic.

Having said that, I generally reach for a wide lens more often than a small one...
