    Scratch on LCD Canon A520
hey guys, I just bought a Canon A520 a few days ago and i love it! Today i had the camera in my pocket for about 30 mins i pulled it out and it looked like i had some minor scratches on the LCD. Im not certainly convinced its a scratch but im not sure, it looks alomst like a fingernail clipping or shaving of off a eraser on a pencil between the plastic and the LCD. i know its just a scratch but i just bought the camera and the first scratch always gets you. Is there anything i can do? the "Scratch" looks white and is very small you cant feel it on the plastic. Can i buy anytype of LCD scratch remover or something. or am i just going to have to live with it, which is fine but it just bugs me.
    Thanks-
    Sam

sorry for the horrible pictures there from my other crappy camera

Sorry about the scratch. You're right the first one is always the worst. My Citizen diving watch just received it's first one after 5 years of use. Why can't we cover LCDs in that stuff? As far as I have seen there is no really good way of getting scratches out of the insanely soft and un-durable plastic that LCD covers are made with. My 20D already has 3 and it is only 2 months old. You should see my iPod  Perhaps some other reviewers may be of some more help, but just wanted to provide some solace. Scratches being what they are though, your camera will still take excellent pictures (it is a Canon after all). Let's see some :)

Contact Canon and ask how much a new cover costs for it. Then buy a clear film cover for the screen and you won't scratch it up again.

theres a plastic polish called iCream for cleaning up ipods plastic covers, they scratch sooo easily...

a cheaper alternative is a metal polish called brasso, your food store should have it in the plumming or kitchen cleaning areas.

shouldnt be too hard to get out, but it may take about 20mins to a half hour of rubbing to get rid of it, lol.. make sure you use a lint free cloth or something as to not make any more scratches. I use old cotton socks for polishing my ipod screen. give it a shot on a cd before the camera to see if it gives you results worth while..
