Canon G10 or the Nikon P6000 which one should I buy?

Long time user of many of todays best DSLRs. My current pride and joy is the Nikon D2x but I am looking to buy my first compact but I don't feel I should give up quality, so I have boiled it down to the Canon G10 or the Nikon P6000 and was wondering everyone's opinion on these two models. I have had some time to use the Canon G10 but not the Nikon P6000. Thanks for anyone's input.

If you're shooting with a D2x, then I'd bet there's a good chance that you have some iTTL flashes too. The P6000 is compatible with the iTTL system and of course the G10 is not.

Also, if you're using their software (NX2) then you can shoot RAW with theirs and not the G10. If you have Photoshop, then either will work (as soon as these cameras are supported - not sure if that has happened yet).

Personally I wound up with a Lumix LX3 which is totally different than these two cameras - closest analogy I can come up with is a rangefinder (LX3) vs. DSLR (P6000 or G10). I'm really surprised how often the LX3 is compared to these two since it's a totally different camera. I thought the iTTL thing might be handy but decided it really wouldn't be for me; if I'm shooting like that I'll grab the DSLR.
