Red Carpet
So how do I go about removing the red carpet glow that's ruining these images?
Here's an example.
Please, edit it and show me how to fix these !

Re: Red Carpet
Paul here is what I did in PS Elements 5.0
Adjust color
edit- red
changed the hue to + 10
changed the saturation to -5
It's a base line to start with, hope it helps?

Re: Red Carpet
In PhotoshopCS2, it's done with the Image> Adjustments> Hue/Saturation command. I selected "reds" from the drop-down menu, and decreased the saturation. Then I added a layer mask, filled it with black, and painted white over the skin tones. This confines the reduced redness to those areas, and leaves the carpet unchanged:

Hope this helps.

Re: Red Carpet
Ah yes, that keeps the red carpet red - and only canges the tones on the affected people.
A global colour change was what I wanted to avoid, since in some other shots there are red cars.
I'll have a go at that, thanks.

Re: Red Carpet
To adjust the red in everything but the carpet, I used Elements to Lasso the carpet and then inversed the selection. That way, my adjustments didn't affect the carpet. I only spent about 45 seconds on this just to see if it would work.

Re: Red Carpet
Oh neat, I didn't think of selecting what I didn't want adjusted.
Inverting the selection didn't occur to me.
