    Problem with samsung S1070

Hi all, im new to the forum and have a very big problem with my digital camera.
I'll set the scene haha, so I had a leaving party on sat, camera was working fine. Got up sunday morning, had a flick through the photos so I could remember all the bad bits haha. Went to a car meet, camera wasn't working, thought the batteries must have died.
Gone to upload my photos today with new batteries in it and it's not switiching on whatsoever. So being the gadget queen that I am, decided to just stick my memory card which is a SanDisk(SDHC card) 8GB into my printer which has a mem.card reader and it says theres a memory problem.
I am worried as theres a lot of photos which i wanted to take away and it was the last time I would see a majority of my friends for 7 months.
    so Helllppp!!

I'd try another memory card in the camera and printer.
May involve spending a little money though.

Don't use that memory card again.
As long as you don't write to it, there is a good chance you can get the images back.
Keep it safe so that there is a chance you can read the images off it using a recovery program.

As it's an SDHC card, if your printer isn't a new one maybe it doesn't work with the high capacity cards.
The card reader built into my Dell monitor doesn't work with SDHC cards, but my cheap $8 card reader from Frys works fine.
So you may find a card reader will help you load the images.
I recommend always using a card reader, and not the camera.

I see that the latest Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 comes with Photorecovery LE image recovery software.
I got a free RescuePro program with my Sandisk CF cards, but I don't know if it comes with SD cards.

There's a good program called ImageRecall that comes with a friendly "Don't Panic" on the cover of the disk
I used it to get back about 100 pictures off a SD card that failed in my wife's camera, and then threw the card in the bin.

There are more than one recovery program on the internet some are free. You may be able to recover the photos but you my have problem recovering if the electronics on the SD card have gone south.
