question about the date when framing a picture

I am getting a couple of photos ready for a show. I took the pictures in 2007, but am framing them in 2009. I am going to sign and date the mat. what year should I use. I think 2007, but just want to be sure... Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. If I were to put a date on my images ( I don't date them now) I would use the date the image was created. 2007 in the case you mentioned.
