    Re: pull processing

I've never done it, but it would help to know what film you're working with.

I've pushed film many times - with slides sometimes I've needed the extra punch and contrast you get with a one stop push on Velvia and pushed Provia a stop or two for handholding. Black and White too, but that's a whole different world.

    Re: pull processing

I'm not sure what film wanna work with...

Probably wanna start with something like Tmax100 and pull to 50 or 25 even
Need to get rid of the extra light when its superbright sunlight and my camera is having problems with the 500 and 1000 shutter speeds (too slow)

Also wanna use some slide films, but a little more hesistant with pulling here.

If you develop your own B&W, then give it a try and see if it works for you. There's two reasons that people push film, one is to get that extra contrast and the other is when you need the shutter speed and the light's too low. Pulling probably works the same - but it's pretty rare. You'll probably get less contrast.

Easier yet (and no worries about finding a lab that can do it) would be just to get a two-stop ND filter. You won't have any problems with different contrast or anything else that happens because of pulling the film. But if you're curious, try it.

    Re: pull processing

if anyone is interested in pulling film, I found some reasons why you would do so.

decrease the speed will decrease the rms-granularity (finer grain)
    flatten contrast (lower it basically)
increase maximum density (sorta an obvious one)
