printing questions
I just printed out an 8x10 picture with my printer and am getting vertical lines. I guess its from every stroke of the cartridge can anyone help me?

Re: printing questions
Do a print head clean a couple of times and see if that fixes it, sounds like you might have a clog in one of the print head pins that would be causing that to happen.

Re: printing questions
could you explain to me how to do this please. Thank you.

Re: printing questions
Well, not know what printer you have makes it a little hard to explain, as I can't second guess what software might be associated with the printer. On my Epson, there is a facility within the printer paramaters to allow the printer to clean the heads, it basically wipes the heads and then pumps ink through to try and unblock and head pins that might be clogged up. I'm sure if you look in the user manual to something along the lines of "Cleaning a blocked pin head or heads", it will list or at the least show some image to explain it in the case of your printer.
If you can't find anything that applies in the manual, or PDF file that might be on an installation disk, then the next avenue would be to go to the site of the manufacturer of the printer and look for FAQ's etc that might lead to a process or program that will help.
Or post what the printer is here and that might make it a little easier too.
Hoep that helps a bit more.

Re: printing questions
Glad it is fixed for you.
If you don't use the printer for a while, like over a week, it is a good idea to check the heads and see if they need a head clean before printing off photos etc, might save on grief, waste of ink and paper as well.
