    Posting photos guideline

Can anyone tell me where I might find the guidelines for posting photos, size and such? I looked in the FAQ'S but don't seem to find anything to tell me how large a photo should be for viewing purposes. Thank you.

Hi Betty, I think that the max size is 640x640. I'm not sure about filesize, (180kb rings a bell?) but I usually save my JPEG's at about medium. Hope this helps!

In the case of viewing on a screen, dpi doesn't apply. The size of the image on the screen is determined by the number of pixels and the monitor resolution. A 600x400 horizontal shot will cover most of a monitor set to 800x600, but still good enough size to see it at a monitor resolution of 1024x768 which is what I use. Personally, I use the 600x400 pixel size, compression at 8 on a level of 12. I am posting some shots in Critique if you want to see what that looks like (shameless plug...).

DPI matters in the case of printing - another subject!

I did not realize this! I thought the dpi made a difference too! So it is basically just the size!!! Ok, I got it! I will check out your shots in Critique! Shamelss plug or not! LOL
