    Old Nikon FG20 flash question

I just came across an old Nikon FG20 SLR camera that did not have a flash with it. I have a Vivitar Auto Thyrisistor flash model 285HV already. Would it be safe to use this flash unit with this camera? Would I be better off tracking down a Nikon Speed flash sb 18 or 19? I am pretty new to all this so I am sorry if this is a stupid question. Thank you for your time.

Re: Old Nikon FG20 flash question

    Scott ...

I cann't answer your question aout the Vivatar ... but ... There are a lot of Nikon SB15s on E-Bay from time to time (15 there now as I write this).
The SB-15 was the recommended flash for the Nikon FG when I bought mine. You can pick one up for less than $50.

    Good luck
