Recording from television onto camera

Hello,
I am using a kodak cx7330 digital camera and I am trying to record from a video I have (I play my video on a vcr and then record the display from the TV screen) but I get thick bars going up and down the screen (I think this is due to frame rate differences). Is there anyway to avoid this or any way to connect directly from my camera to my vcr?

You are correct in that you are recording scan lines. Try slowing down the shutter and use a tripod.

Scan lines are interlaced at 1/30 sec in the US. You need a shutter speed greater than this. Try lowering the shutter speed (on a tripod) until you get what you need.
