Pink Stripe HELP
Any clue what this might be? It was appearing on my images during a shoot. I went in to the menu and reset my camera settings and it went away. But then a few months later it started showing up again. I was able to to reset camera again, but I'm just wondering if I need to take a trip to canon and find out what's causing it!?
Will try to post the image after I've reached 10 posts LOL

Re: Pink Stripe HELP
I did call canon and they said it sounded like it could be a sensor issue, but could also be electrical. They told me to do a hard reset on the camera (taking both batteries out) and then see if it happens again.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue.

Re: Pink Stripe HELP
I have an original canon 5D. Have already tried switching out cards so I know it's not a bad card.

Re: Pink Stripe HELP
It looks Magenta to me, not pink. The coloured JPG image that you see is actually a mix of Magenta, Cyan and Yellow. It looks like on a portion of the image your camera is outputting Magenta as 100%.
Knowing that doesn't really help us to identify where the problem is, however. The photosensitive elements on the sensor are sensitive to red, green and blue (I think) and then there is a whole pipeline of transformation to make the final image. It sounds like one of the components in the pipeline has gone bad.
Send it in to Canon.

This may be a connection issue to the sensor, and in any case is not a user fixable thing so:
If it is an point and shot and it's out of warranty then it will be cheaper just to purchase an replacement.
DSLR or an expensive camera you will just have to sent it in to get a repair estimate.
But either way it's going to cost $$$$
