    Photgrphy terms help please!
    Hey im a begginer as you could probably guess and i was just wondering if any1 could shed light on some terms:

    Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO Macro DG the abbreviations underlined please...

    Oh one more thing there are two Sigma 70-300mm lens' with macro switch that imintrested in... One is the lens thats mentioned above which is £179 and another without APO for £109, whats so good about these 2 for this price difference???

    Cheers Greg Thanks... You know which one of them lenses is better or does the APO not make much difference anyone know?

    The one without APO is less expensive. At longer focal lengths it might make a difference but it depends on your eyes mainly. I used to have an old Nikon 300mm manual focus lens. It was offered with and without a similar feature. Some people couldn't see any difference with it (ED as they call it) and others could. I had the one "with" and it was a truly excellent lens, but no experience without. The difference likely will be very subtle and only show in some situations. However, I don't know these lenses and there may be other differences between them.
