No picture

O>K> I'm a novice..but here's my problem.

I have a KodakES LS443 (someday I'll graduate)..it appears all the menu items
work (exposure , light, shutter speed, etc) and the picture count goes up, the
flash works. I'm assuming therefore the battery is good.

Zoom works (at least I think)...I'm working with only the internal memory now...

Problem: there is no picture on the liveview or video...you can tell it has power to
the photodiodes (there is a grey display). When you snap a picture it comes back
with the same grey picture (no images) and the trashcan symbol is showing in the
liveview.

Any ideas...

I have a question, have you tried to download or print of the pictures off the camera? If so, what was the result?

You may want to try something in manual exposure to see if perhaps your metering is off. Another option is to use a memory card and see if you can pull files from it.

Most likely, there is something wrong with the exposure if you can see the menu on the screen. Your aperture could be stuck, or the meter just reading more light than is really there, causing a way to fast shutter speed. If you shoot in manual, and get a good exposure, I would think the meter is to blame, if you get the same result after manual, it is more likely the aperture is stuck.

Perhaps you could post some examples, or some EXIF data, that may help us answer your question.

One more thing would help us is to know where/when/what you are trying to shoot.
