Nikon SLR N65 Viewfinder going dark problem
After my son tried to take off the lens of my N65, and tried to put on another one, I looked through the viewfinder to see that the image was almost black, and that the camera would not take any photos. Perhaps the manner with which he took off the lens and/or put on the other one damaged a part or pushed something out of place? I've heard such a problem happens when the mirror gets stuck in the up-position, however; I have no experience in handling such technicaly issues. Any help would be immensely appreciated, thanks.

If the mirror was up there would be no image at all. If the image is dark that means that the diaphragm is closed. It could be that the lens has not been fully locked into place. When you put the lens on the camera you first insert it then give it a 45 degree twist until there is a click and it locks into the mount. The diaphragm only opens towards at the end of the 45 degree turn.

Take the lens off and put it back on properly. It it's still dark - take it to the repair shop.
