Nikon School
Has anyone attended the Intro to Digital DSLR Photography class that Nikon School offers? I'm wondering if that would be of help to me. I'm really new to Digital photography and learning is slow-going! The seminar in Michigan is on a weekend when I'm gone but there is one coming to Chicago!
I'd appreciate any feedback!

Re: Nikon School
If it's in the place they've usually had it in Chicago, it's not downtown - it's out by O'Hare airport which is a longer drive from MI, of course. I went to the original Nikon School about eight years ago before DSLR's were really part of the picture (hey, a pun!) and it was incredible. A few years later I went to Digital 201 which is the second half of the class you speak of. It filled in plenty of knowledge gaps I didn't know I had. Picked up loads of tips from that one too.
My sister went to the class you're talking about and is very new to photography in general. She was happy she went, but it sounded like it might have been a bit advanced for her (starting pretty much from square one however). The thing about a class like this is that it's fast paced and don't plan on taking very many notes. Some stuff will "stick" and some won't. If you went to the same class a year later, you'd learn things that you didn't understand the year before or maybe couldn't relate to at that moment. I'd really recommend doing it, but here's another that's good: RMSP Weekends
