    So I though that you might like to see how close you can actually get with a quick dodgy setup.

    A little Black Ant at about 3mm in length. The smallest ant that I could find.

    With this combination, I have made a microscope. You can see that the depth of field is very shallow ... but more than adequate to produce an interesting handheld shot. I waited for the ant to run into focus.
