My daughter has a Canon EOS7e. I see that the EF series of lenses are used on that camera but are any older lenses also compatible?

I think if you try mounting older lenses you would need an adapter for them. I have never tried it myself, but I think I remember reading that sometime on old forums. You are much better off using EF series lenses anyway. Buy a 50mm f/1.8 lens to start off with and then see where you need to go from then in regards to other lens lengths.

I have tried to find the adapter so I could use my Fd Lenses on my elan 7e and eos 3. Btw the Elan 7e is a very nice camera and a pleasure to use. You don't necessarily need to use Canon EF lenses. I use sigma lenses and there are other 3rd party brands that have canon mounts. Some of the lenses are just as good as the canon "L" lenses from what I hear.
