must I only use canon EF lenses on EOS7e?
My daughter has a Canon EOS7e. I see that the EF series of lenses are used on that camera but are any older lenses also compatible?

I think if you try mounting older lenses you would need an adapter for them. I have never tried it myself, but I think I remember reading that sometime on old forums. You are much better off using EF series lenses anyway. Buy a 50mm f/1.8 lens to start off with and then see where you need to go from then in regards to other lens lengths.

I have tried to find the adapter so I could use my Fd Lenses on my elan 7e and eos 3. Btw the Elan 7e is a very nice camera and a pleasure to use. You don't necessarily need to use Canon EF lenses. I use sigma lenses and there are other 3rd party brands that have canon mounts. Some of the lenses are just as good as the canon "L" lenses from what I hear. If you are shopping for lenses for your canon Check out the Review section. You can get the reviews for all the canon ef lenses and the sigma, tamaron, tokina etc 3rd party lenses.

    Have fun shooting
