    Mounting photographs
I have some images that i want to try and window mount. I have never done this before and would like to know how to do it.
How do you do the measurements for window mount?
Is there a standard or commenly used measurement?

Are there any websites with this sort of information?

    Thankyou for any advice!

    Couple of websites:

    www.lightimpressionsdirect.com for materials and frames
www.americanframe.com Photo John (the big kahuna here) turned me on to them, they have a tutorial and great prices.

Unless your prints are huge, I'd leave 1/8" on all four sides. This would mean your opening is 7-3/4" x 9-3/4" for an 8x10 print. Smaller prints like this usually look fine with the opening centered in the mat. Bigger prints you may want to move slightly up from the bottom - on 16x24, mine are about 1/2" towards the top (centered left to right, of course!).

A company called Logan makes mat cutters that are popular - I think there's a link to their site from American Frame. They occasionally offer seminars on how to do some of this. I've never been to one, but a friend told me it was pretty good.
