Motion blur pictures with DMC-TZ7
Hi - Just got the above digi Cam. Was wondering how I would go about shooting motion blur images (eg. Water falls) with camera. Is there a way to set the shutter speed manually in this camera. Appreciate kind advice.

From the specs. it does not look like you have any manual control. So set the ISO from auto to the lowest setting and get ND filters to lengthen the exposure, and you will need a tripod for the camera as you will shot for an 1 to 30 second shutter speed depending on how smooth the water needs to be. You may need a dark cloth to shield the ND filter and lens from reflections of the back side of the ND filter as there is not any way of mounting to the lens of your camera.

Thanks a lot. I'll give it shot and post (depending on the outcome!) later.

Re: Motion blur pictures with DMC-TZ7
freygr's advice is right on. I don't think your camera has threads for attaching filters so you'll probably just have to hold them in front of the lens. That will work as long as you don't bump the camera. Watch for reflections between the filter and lens, too. Check your image carefully after you shoot it and adjust the filter if you see any reflections. You might also want to consider a circular polarizer instead of a neutral density filter. A polarizer will cut about 2.5 stops of light and if you use it right it will also cut reflections in the water and help you get more saturated greens and darker skies.
