Re: Minolta Flashes
Which model did you buy ?
I have the 3600HS flash from Minolta. To use the flash wireless I mount the flash on my camera (Minolta A1), and I select wireless flash from the camera menu. Then I unmount the flash and place it at the desired location. Please note that the you have to use the on-camera flash to fire the wireless flash, it acts as a slave. And I believe there must be no obstacles between the camera and the flash, because information is sent through infra-red.
I hope this helps. But this information must also be in the manual of the flash unit.

Re: Minolta Flashes
A lot of people have trouble getting the wireless setup going right, and Minolta's manuals are rather vague on the subject, so no need to feel like the Lone Ranger here.
Personally, I haven't dealt with it (went straight from the built-in flash to Monolights) - but I know a few places where you can find plenty of help with this.
