    buying a light meter

    Hello,
I want to buy a light meter,
I'm having trouble to decide which one of the two:
    Sekonic L-508
    Sekonic L-358/R
I think they are both very similar, the difference in price is about 50-80$ (the 358 is more expensive).
If anybody knows something about the difference or anything at all, I'll be very happy to know.
    Thank you ,Orly

    Re: buying a light meter

I had an L358, but not sure what the "/R" is - a newer model? The L508 has a built-in spot meter IIRC, but the 358 does not. With the 358, if you want a spot meter you have to buy a fairly clumsy attachment to do that. If you plan on using the spot meter function at least occasionally I'd stick with one that has the built-in.
