Looking for a good Nikon Macro Lens...

Does anyone have any suggestions? I have a Nikon D70s and I have a 18-70 lens and I have a 75-300 on the way but I really would like to get a good Macro lens. Any info would be greatly appreciated.....also, some good online stores for photography equipment would be alot of help too. Thanks Everyone!!!

Nikon's 105 Micro (as they call their macro lenses) is a great lens, but I'm not sure what your budget is. This link will take you to that lens at the place I get most of my equipment from. I hear Nikon's 60mm is great too, but no personal experience with it. Be sure to check the reviews on this site.

Most manufacturer's 100mm (or so) macros recieve high ratings. I absolutely love my Tamron 90mm. It is a good bit less expensive than the Nikon 105mm. I have heard really good things about the Sigma 100mm, too (which would be less expensive, also.) PM me if you want to see some sample shots from the Tamron.

In general, I think something like a 60mm is a little too short. You have to get right up on whatever you are shooting, which would work for bugs, etc.

My Tamron 90mm was $300 used in like-new condition from www.keh.com. Here are a few pics:

Re: Looking for a good Nikon Macro Lens...

I picked up the Sigma 150mm Macro that I use on my D70 & D1h. I absolutly love it. I've got a shot in my Photography review.com gallery of a fence post that I used this lens on. I've got a few more shots that I need to touch up a little before I post them. I picked it up from www.Sigma4less.com. I also have ordered a good amount of lenses from www.Digitalfotoclub.com and have had no problems with either of them.
