Lense compatibility with digital cameras

Hi all

My friend has a Canon EOS 10D digital camera that has never left the box, and she has offered to sell it to me.

I own a Canon EOS Kiss with EF 35-80mm and EF 80-200mm lenses. Can I just put these lenses onto a digital camera?

I know the 10D is a bit old (and the Kiss), but I'm just an enthusiastic photographer, not technical, and don't feel I need the latest kit. However, I would like to go digital so I can experiment a bit more (no wasted film!)

Any comments / advice very welcome.

The lenses will work, but due to the crop factor you will have a field of view of a lens of approx. 1.6x the focal length you're used to. So your 35-80mm at 35mm will have the same field of view you're used to with it set at 56mm. You may want to invest in a new lens for your wide end.
