    Lens storage question
So I recently splurged and got a Canon Digital Rebel XS, along with an EF f/1.8 II. The bag I got has enough space for the camera and the two lenses (the 1.8 and the kit) stacked on top of each other.

I put the 1.8 on top of the kit because it's about half the weight, but I'm still curious - will this hurt the kit lens?

Congrats on your new kit. I wouldn't worry about stacking the lenses.

are they stacked with absolutely nothing separating them? if so i would get a piece of bubble wrap and cut a piece that can fit between the lenses (maybe double it up). i think something as simple as that would be worth it, just in case.

The weight will not be a problem at all, if that is what you are concerned about. But having something like a piece of bubble wrap, as herg suggested, would be a good idea. It would prevent the lenses from bouncing around against each other when you are carrying the bag.

I wouldn't fret. But I would wrap them in cloth just to prevent scratching the lens body.
