What Video Camera should I use to shoot small Gemstones with?

    Dear Forum Readers,
First off I thank you for your time to read this. I have a question.

I need a video camera to record small gemstones. This link is an example of what I need.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/CERTIFIED-0-45ct...4.c0.m14.l1262

In this link you will see a diamond that’s around 4mm in size. I was wondering what VIDEO camera should I use in order to record such videos.

I am planning to get a SONY H20, here is the link

    http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/...specifications

Can you please tell me if this camera video features will be able to take videos such as the page you just saw? The thing is my budget is $500 so is there any video camera out there that can achieve great results and produce good colors?

Another question is, what do you think he uses? I am sure he edits his video and possibly crops it as well.

I did be very grateful for your assistance.

    Kind regards,

    Bub

Well, for eBay, just about any camera or camcorder will do. The real key is going to be lighting it. I'd first plan on getting a good light box with a pair of key lights to light your product with. Hammacher sells a good light box kit for about $80. It's an important feature which should be factored into your budget. Hell, you could even use a $150 Flip HD Mino and get quality video. The key is lighting.
