Kodak DX6490 Spilled liquid in it!! Need Advise

I took my camera to Oaklawn park today and spilt a little bit of margueta on the dial on the back. Now the dial does not want to turn. Other than that, the camera works fine. I was thinking I would take it apart and clean it.
IS this something that I should be doing? Or should I take it to a shop?
    thanks

    Careful!

I would suggest starting with a very small quantity of a diluted cleaning solution on a cotton swab (I am assuming it is the sugar that has caused things to get a bit sticky). Be patient and see if you can loosen this thing up. If that doesn't work, you will need to take it to a repair shop. This is a relatively expensive camera so I would not recommend you disassemble anything on the camera.
