    Question Help with resolutions?

Hi all, I've recently brought a Samsung Digimax 401, due to it being half price, and wanting a digital camera for a while now. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a few issues I have with it?

Firstly, i'm going away soon, and want to take the camera with me, so I can get the prints done when I get back. the problem is, I dont know what kind of resolution I should take my pictures at so I can get the best quality when I get back? The camera goes up to a maximum of 2304 x 1728, but i've been taking pictures at 1024 x 768, any help would be greatly appreciated, as i've been in to my local photo shop, who do prints in 6" x 4 , 7"x 5, and 9" x 6, and this has confused me a bit

Finally, i've noticed that the battery life isn't exactly great, does any one have any tips that I could bear in mind to save on buying lots of new batterys?

    Thanks a lot!

    Dan

    Re: Help with resolutions?

Well, the higher the resolution, the more information stored in the file the bigger they can be printed before any quality issues. I always save mine on 2274x1704 (the largest available size on my 4MP Coolpix 4500), "fine" quality JPG and have no problem printing 8x10s.

As for battery life, I only have two suggestions: turn off the LCD and use the view finder (review intermitantly instead of immediately) and buy a spare battery.
