    issues with teleconverter,

I have a quantaray 2x teleconverter connected to my nikon d60,also connected is a tokina 80-400 lens that I use for my long shots, and when I shoot with the teleconverteron and the lens fully extended,i look at the information when it opens in the raw converter and it only shows it as being extended to 400 mm,shouldn't it be showing it extended to 800,I am wondering if my converter is not working,or is this normal?sorry if my post may seem confusing,I had a long 900 mile drive yesterday and am still feeling the affects of it,

    Re: issues with teleconverter,

You're camera isn't reading info from the teleconverter; only the lens. It reads the light, aperture, and zoom on the lens. There isn't a way for it to read the teleconverter.
But you are still getting 800x zoom.
    Keep Shooting!

thank you,I was very worried that something was wrong, now I know that there is something wrong, but it is with me,hahahah, now I just have to work on my manual focusing,,that is proving to be an exercise in itself, thanks again. I do think I am gonna try and find a better converter for it though, the one I have sounds a bit noisy when I pick it up to put it on,,
