How To Post Pictures...

Hello everyone, I was looking and counldn't find if the file and picture has to be a certain size to upload. As I just got a new digital camera and wanted to contribute to this wonderful site. Tahnks in advance for all the help....

I just use save for web feature in PS Elements set at 60% and they normally are accepted. Oh, I also keep the longest side at 640... hope that helps! :)

Hi James - when we first went to this software, our fearless leader Photo-John did a quick tutorial: How to post photos.

600 to 640 for the long side of the picture is a good idea, it's all you need and everyone will be able to see it on their screen without scrolling - and won't take forever for dialup users. I do it differently, by re-sizing to 600x400 (or 600x450, depending on camera) and saving with a compression of "8" in Photoshop. Either is fine.
