Question What Camera should I get?

I am a newbie, and am looking for a camera that does most of the thinking for me.
I am comparing two cameras: the Canon S410 and the Nikon 4200.

I have heard that the Nikon is a better camera, but the Canon records sound on the video and I think has a better battery (doesn't run on AA).

    PLEASE give me some recommendations!
    Thanks!

Try the Ultima1000. This fully automatic, programmable, high-resolution, state-of-the-art camera with built-in motion detector, ultra deluxe infrared night scope, 28 to 1000 mm zoom lens, retractable titanium/graphite tripod, "style-controller" (you can choose from over 100 different famous photographers), and AM/FM radio, selects the scene for you, composes and focuses, determines shutter and aperture settings, exposes up to 2500 times/second, prints the image in black and white and/or color on your choice of glossy or matte paper (or burns the image to CD with soundtrack option), and faxes to your PC. The new Ultima1000VRS (all the features above plus voice recognition software) is currently in production and should be available early next year.

Ner, allensuperbest is clearly searching for a simple point-and-shoot camera and asked for recommendations, not some smartass remark of someone who's trying to make fun of someone.

    Welcome to the board allensuperbest.
I don't have the answer, but I'm pretty sure someone will help you soon.

    Good luck ;)

Personally, I love my Canon S400. The 410 should be just as good. One negative: the case scratches easily. A small price to pay for excellent photographs.
