Help! what is this?

What are these "light" areas on the right (your right)? I inadvertently used the flash here, so thought the the light area in the eye was from the flash, but when viewed in the crop version, there are other light areas around the eye - never saw this before. I'm using a new E-620 and new 50mm/f2 lens, so want to be sure it's not the equipment/pixels, etc. Probably is the flash, but want to be sure.

Liz, are you referring to the 4 (maybe 3) light spots around the eye on the right?

I would guess they are flash reflections from a bit of mucous or something.
Probably show in the right eye and not the left due to angle.

That would be my guess as well. I see some similar reflections off the moisture on the nose too.

I haven't seen anything like this before, and couldn't figure out what would cause it. It's much more pronounced when it's enlarged and you can see the "square" pixels.
