Help with skin texture!

Hey guys,
I wanted to know if any of you could figure out how this photographer gets his skin with the kind of texture he gets. When I open my stuff in raw its so clean and clear and this guys gets depth with his stuff just by the skin texture. I can tel you I"m pretty advanced at editing and no luck at all. Hopefully I'm missing something simple.

looks to me like there isn't any editing to get this look, it's just the biproduct of an advanced shooter and a good MUA.

definitely no MUA and there is editing. I've talked to him but he's so busy he keeps forgetting to tell me. I figured someone might be able to see this process.

What's MUA?

Please don't post the work of other photographers without their permission - it violates copyright to do that. Plus as photographers, we wouldn't want other people to do that with our work. It's better to post a link to the shots.

Seems more to me to be the light, rather than editing.
Were you shooting under the same lighting, working with him?
