HELP, need posing ideas
Shooting 10 prom couples next week, could use something more modern than the standard HS fare.
Thanks!

Do you want full length shots?

Yes, do you have any good examples?

Well, I can't say that I have any examples (remember I'm a beginner ;) ) but I might have some ideas... will they be indoors or outdoors?

Just my small opinion:
posing = bad
capturing a moment = good
when I take a persons picture, I never have them pose. I tell them to talk with me, think of funny things, tell me a story... anything to get them animated. Most people will smile and have lots of expression when I do this. I then just shoot shoot shoot and get MUCH better results than having them pose.

Stand Behind Your Tripod In A Speedo... That'll Get'um Laughing Good :)

Thanks everyone.
Still haven't found anything interesting though. THe wedding stuff is either too generic or too journalistic. I really want something contemporary, while not requiring elaborate or outdoor setups. I think I'll try to mess with lighting instead, that might be an easier way to mak the shots unique.

Oldies but goodies
Have you thoght of maybe doing a Gnger Roger and fred astaire sort of thing...
Maybe a full length with them dancing or a cheek to cheek dancing with some fun creative lighting? my prom pic sucked! It had this awful asteroid belt back ground, gray rug and harsh(bright) lighting.
Something a lot of high school prom photogs don't do is enough headshots or closeups of couples...my two cents---good luck!:)
