Help, I can't process my pushed print film!
I'm in Africa, and have recently taken some shots of wildlife using 400 print flm pushed to 800. Thinking this was the wise thing to do, none of the labs here can process them, being unable to "override" the processor's auto speed settings. Any ideas? I'd like to process them soon, before going through another hundred airports!
Thanks,
Canuck

Just thinking outside the box here.... might there be any universities in the area that teach photography and might have lab equipment that a student could do the job for you?
What if you found a professional printing company or graphics professional/ad agency, they might know of a lab that can do that kind of custom work ...
Talk to a professional photographer who might know ...
... mail the rolls home? ...

I haven't been to an airport in over a year so I don't know if things have changed but at the gate you should be able to have the film hand checked. Just tell them the film is pushed to 1000. From what I've read film with a speed under 1000 won't be affected by the X-ray scanners at the gate. But definitely don't put the film in in your luggage.

Look for a professional lab, but you might have to go to Jo'berg to find one that can do it. This would be expensive - but you could FedEx it to yourself at home if you know of a place that could do it near there.
