    Help! Error 99 Christmas horror....
    My Christmas gift:

    http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/f...f/IMG_0758.jpg

My huge problem: I cannot consistently take more than three pictures (if any at all) without then getting an error message (Err 99) that forces me to play around the whole thing, take it apart, and then do everything all over again. It is possibly the most annoying error I have ever had to deal with in my history of doing anything. :mad2:

I have read endless amounts of help articles, all by people who ran into the problem after owning their camera from 6 months to 2 years. I JUST GOT THIS THING.

The kit lens is no better than the biggy.

This seems to be a very common problem and I am confused as to how I can get it to go away.

I have done the pencil eraser trick on the contacts - still nothing.
I'll turn it off and on - does nothing to help.
Remove and replace battery - does nothing.

    What the hell?

Battery is fully charged, correct? If so, then take it back to the dealer - obviously something's wrong and it's brand new...

I put it in Google and this is what I found. It says there is a firmware update that will fix the problem. See address below, Jeff

Update: After talking with customer service there was something internally broken in the camera. Best Buy gave me a new one and that one works great!
