Good Question

Hi!!! I have a quick question maybe some of you can answer for me.?. I was just wondering if there is such a thing that you could say use say nikon lenses on a canon?? I don't know if such a thing exists or how much it would be to buy one? I was just wondering because i just bought a digital rebel and i was wanting to use my nikon lenses on it. So it would save me some money because i am still in school and tuition is killin me. Thanks and hope someone could help.

Nope! For manual focus cameras, there is a rare part that allows you to use Nikkor lenses on a manual Canon camera.

If you want Nikkor glass, use a Nikon body. That is why I switched 21 years ago. I bought a Canon lens and was not pleased w/ it. I know now that Nikon has 2 or maybe 3 different grades of Nikkors but back then it was not so. Even the E lenses were decent.

Why do you want to use Nikon Glass if I may ask?

Hey, why not just sell the Nikon gear and buy a Canon lens or two? I'm sure someone at your school would buy Nikon stuff- I go to a tiny 800 student satellite campus of a community college and I've never had any trouble moving stuff when I need dough. It can be pretty amazing the things students end up needing for classes.
On a side note, I too wonder why you need to do this. Don't the Nikon lenses work on Nikon digital? If so, why did you get a Canon? :confused:

I currently own a Nikon FE with three good lenses for them they are all auto focus lenses i just use them on a manual camera. I have gotten great results from them and I love 35mm. I just dont want to part with them or any of my 35mm equipment. I work at this camera store called Cord Camera and I could get a good deal on a Canon Digital Rebel for $699 brand new with the lens on it. So I figured it was a good time to go digital so i went with the rebel. I have heard nothing but good things about the rebel and i could get a good deal on one so i bought it. Now im not that big of a photographer i will only probably use it out at the race track where a 18-55mm lens would work fine with my shooting style. I was just wondering if i could use my nikkor lenses on my canon. It was just a question because i dont need to use them i was just wondering if it was possible. Thanks for all the answers everyone.

It is doable.....but pricey, and only for manual focus lenses I believe and not for what you are looking for. There are a fair bit of the Canon tilt and shift lenses out there that have been converted to nikon mounts because nikon no longer (to my knowledge) makes any tilt and shift lenses. Any competant camera repair guy can do it, just it is costly, and like I said for your purposes I'd look at tradins.
