    Flash for D70
Anybody know of any good flashes for my new D70? Could I get an even reasonably decent one for around $200? I want to use it for some car shows but also just general photography. Thanks for you time,

I got a SB 600 for my D70 for $195+S/H at bhphotovideo.com. The flash is designed for new digital cameras and works quite well for me.

The D70 has a very sophisticated flash system called i-TTL - which works best with Nikon flashes that are designed for it (the SB600 and SB800). Sigma and Metz also make i-TTL compatible models but I believe that they had to figure out the protocol for themselves so the results aren't as reliable as with Nikon.

You can use other flashes with the D70 but you have to let the flashgun meter the light itself. It works - 25 years ago all flashes were like that.
