Flare example with 16-35 2.8L

Just as an FYI, here is a photo I shot yesterday, with a Canon 10D, a 16-35 2.8L (with Canon hood) and a 550EX flash. It was about 11:30 in the morning, and the sun was behind the subject, at an angle. The ISO was 400, and the camera was at 1/200 of a sec, f/10.

As you can see, this picture suffers from severe ghosting, internal reflections and flare. I held my hand up to block some of it (which I could see in the Viewfinder) but it is still ruined by flare, ghosting, etc.

This lens preforms well in almost all situations, but obviously has problems when pointed anywhere near the sun. You might want to keep this in mind if you face similar situations, and keep the sun at an angle at least 90 degrees from the camera.
