    What to do with $500

So my birthday is comming up and I was just wonder what to do with my newly-found $500. I've got a D70 right now with the standard wide-angle lense and this $100 telephoto lense. Should I upgrade my telephoto lense or buy a speedlight? Any recs. on either of the options?

lol, Liven... I was thinking the same thing, but then realized it was a bit short of what I need....like about $4500 short...Oh well.

I guess the best thing to do is stick it in the bank a while until you figure out what to do with, at least it will earn a few cents interest!

Depends on what you take photos of. With 500 you could get a very nice tripod and a speedlight, or get tripod and a 70-300 Nikor DX lense. As I do alot of macro photography, I spent almost $500 on a 70-300 Tamor Macro Lense.

We can't answer the question without knowing what you shoot, and what you want to shoot. If it were me, I'd probably get an SB800 flash. You can use the built-in as a commander (I think) and do all kinds of really creative things with those two flashes really easily and quickly. But, for what you're shooting maybe this doesn't matter. More info please...

yeah I do pretty much every type of photography, that's my problem. Shoot my friends at sports, the buds at mountain biking, the occasional portrait or nature shot... I'll check out that SB800 though, thanks for the tip

400mm f/2.8? That sounds about right for price, I believe. I'm going for the sigma 300mm f/2.8 next, after I buy my flash.
