I'm just about ready to purchase a new camera from BH price $339

I've usually been one to refuse in the past.

What is the census on this site?

It depends on what the warranty covers, and which warranty product you are purchasing.

If you are referring to SAGEMAX warranties I would do it, depending on what you want covered. I have purchased Sagemax warranties previously, and although I did not have a camera problem, I did occasionally deal with their customer service. When I sold an Olympus E-620, I transferred the warranty to the new owner - no charge. Their customer service was great! They were friendly and professional, and took care of everything in a matter of minutes.

I bought the extended warranty on my A700. Sure glad I did because it had a problem after the MFR warranty expired. It would have cost more to fix than the extended warranty cost.

My vote: Do it

If you buy it with a credit card, the card usually extends the manufacturers warranty for 1 more year.
