dont know where to begin

Alright, I am buying my first camera, just looking for a cheap quality point and shoot. I don't really know what to look for, can somebody point me in the right direction?

How much $$ do you want to spend :D? You should be able to grab some superb P&S' for around $300.

I think if you want cheap I would look at Walgreens and look at the Kodaks. I had a Kodak Easy Share 3.1MP once and it was a very tough camera for what I payed for it. It took some serious abuse for about two years before it quit.

I had a 5mp Kodak easy share that I bought off of ebay for like $49 about a year and a half ago. Pretty decent for what it was, but since I bought my xti, I haven't even looked at the kodak.
