Don't know what class of cameras to pick from
I'm not an enthusiastic photographer and don't own a camera at the moment. In about a month i'll be going on a long trip to Thailand and would like to take many pictures.
I prefer digital cameras for the sheer convenience. However, i don't know what kind of camera should i purchase. I'm considering simple 3 or 4 MP cameras like Nikon Coolpix 4300 and cheap megazoom cameras like Olympus C-750 Ultrazoom. The price is a major consideration and the amount of MP is not.
What class should i settle on and which cameras would be a good bargain?

    Thanks in advance,
    David

    I would like to suggest
1st, get the camera in plenty of time to learn how to use it BEFORE you leave. Work out any problems before the real picture taking starts.

2nd, make sure you have enough batteries. Will you be able to have access to electricity for recharging batteries and if you do will your charger work there?

3rd, make sure you have a sufficient amount of memory to cover your picture taking. If price is a major factor remember to include these two items in your budget.

As far as suggesting a camera I will leave that to someone else that is more familiar with these cameras. Have fun.
