    Dimage A2 image problem
I have a new Dimage A2 digital camera. I am seeing a weird problem on my images that I would like to know how to correct if possible. Another Dimage A2 owner that I know has not experienced the same problem. I have been taking pictures in the Auto setting on Fine quality. In the view finder I am seeing weird color pixels (usually magenta). These pixels tend to show up in highlight areas where there is a gradual change of color. These pixels also show up on the computer and in high quality prints. If I was working on an image on the computer I would think that that I was using too few colors, and that the computer was interpolating the rest. Is something like that happening? I couldn't find anything in the manual about numbers of colors. What might my problem be? Hopefully not the camera! Thanks.

Good idea. Here is one of the most obvious examples. See the purple specs in the sky. Since I have posted, I have looked in the manual and red reviews. I have seen reference to "purple fringe" but no explanation about what it is or how to avoid it.

Purple fringing is a lens issue, this is a sensor/processing issue. Call them as soon as you can, this should NOT be happening.
