    digital or slr ???
I am a newbie and need help I am thinking about buying a new camera but cannot decide if i should go digital SLR or 35mm SLR. I currently own a nikon 6006 11yrs old( I always liked the shots from the 6006) w/tamron28-200 lens and a canon G2. I love the G2, BUT CHECKED OUT THE f100 at Ritz and thought it was awesome also liked the D70 TOO. Any suggestions on which camera is better. And is dust a problem w/digital SLRs. I will be shooting a lot of sports. Thanks for any help or advice Joe H

How much more do you plan on shooting film? Are you using the G2 more than the 6006? That should give you a starting place on your decision. The new DSLR's are pretty darn close 90%+ of the time to slide film depending on the contrast range of the scene, especially in RAW mode, so if you like the way film looks, I doubt you'll notice much difference if you go DSLR. An F100 is a big investment if you plan to go digital soon.
Just some thoughts as you ponder giving yourself a Christmas present (hehehe-or is it hohoho?)

Tough choice - both medias are good for different situations. I own the F-100 and like it, very nice camera, but at $1000+ you better use it.

I think that if you're a strong computer user that digital might be better for you. You can download your files to your HD and manipulate the images with paint programs. If you avoid computers or don't know much about them and/or don't care to, best to stick with film.
