    Too many options...help!!

    Hi! I am really new to the photo world. I am looking to purchase a digital camera and have been trying to research cameras, but there are SOOOO many options! I want a camera with image stablization, 6x opitical zoom, and something fast enough to capture family sports shots (softball, basketball, etc.). I would like a compact camera so I can grab it and run. I would appreciate ANY suggestions! Thanks for the help!

    A friend of mine has a Canon Rebel. He takes pictures at kids sporting events, baseball, basketball etc. It does a very good job. He is very happy with it.

    lookin for a compact camera. besides, then you'd have to spend a ton on IS lenses.
