Digital camera power problem

Every time just after recharging, my digital camera runs out of power in like 10 sec after I turn it on. It can still operate for I don't know how long, but the battery bar is very low. I know it's not the battery problem, because I bought and put in a new one yesterday. My digital camera is not very old. It's about 1.5 years.

How can I solve this problem? :(

I had a similar issue with my wife's point and shoot so I emailed the manufacturer. Unfortunately they will probably tell you the same thing I was told.. take it in for service.

Repair cost = $235
Original Camera cost - $199

New camera went home with me and the wife hasn't even noticed lol

ahh, I don't feel like spending so much money to repair it.

Anyone knows what are the possible reasons that might be causing this problem?
