Generally speaking, is it possible to recover photos that have been deleted from your digital camera or does it depend on the make and model?

Generally speaking......if you deleted them from the camera, without first saving them to the computer, then they are GONE.

The memory cards don't work entirely the same as a hard drive. When you delete a file on your hard drive, it is simply retagged to where it can be overwritten - and thus can still be recoverable for a time. When you erase it from the memory card, it is erased - period.

This is the leading hazard with the digital's ability to 'zap the duds on the fly'. Sometimes we zap them before really thinking it through.

Which camera really doesn't matter, but try a program like Image Rescue. It's inexpensive and saved a lot of people in cases like this. As long as you haven't written over the file, you have a pretty good chance - even if you've reformatted the card (like you always should ;) ).
